Flew to Italy a few weeks ago for work and had a wonderful time:
The view from my airplane, look at the little Italian fields! So many grapes, so little wine! ;)

We stayed in Napoli (Naples) where everyone drived like a maniac and road laws were merely guidelines. That castle in the middle of the ocean is rumored to have an egg underneath it and if it breaks the entire castle will fall into the ocean.

Naples is very close to Pompeii, it was an interesting place, but I thought these were the neatest things there. They are how the citizens of Pompeii crossed the street (which was filled with feces and garbage), the spaces between them are made for the horses to pass through.

We went to Rome for a day, and did as all Roman tourists do and went to the main attraction there.

I broke my sandels on this hill. I loved those shoes.

There were random bits of marble all over the place, they were very pretty but had nothing to do with their surroundings.

Of course on the way home Heathrow killed our souls. Our entire terminal was shut down and we had to spend the night there, they gave everyone blankets, as well as these mats which were harder than the floors. Little shanty towns popped up all over the place, and there was even a village made of space blanket users. I was jealous of their warmth. After waiting in many lines for many hours we managed to get a new flight on a Virgin Airways flight, which was far more enjoyable than the BA one.
We made it home missing all of luggage besides our carry ons. I got mine back a few days ago (three weeks after returning home) with massive oil stains on the outside and what I think is a knife slash in the front...at least I hope it's a knife slash.
I still have my blanket too. :)
